Update Covid-19 Europe – 20-03-2020

Caroz will continue to provide our customers with our full cooperation and commitment. Please read the new update (bold lines are added / adjusted) :

Due to the expected increase of infected people all over Europe, it is foreseeable that personnel shortages may further occur in the transport and distribution network. Therefore, bottlenecks in the delivery of your consignments are likely to happen.

Next to that we expect delays at a lot of borders within Europe, due to strict border controls. In addition, we see additional surcharge arise. Below the most prominent information summarized:

 Given the impact of the pandemic in the logistics industry, it is more than likely that this could affect our services. Nevertheless, Caroz will stay full focus on our customers and will strive to work for our customer to our full ability. 

In order to stay focus and remain efficient as possible, we would like to ask you to prepare your customer service to prevent extra questions regarding your consignments at Caroz. We would like to ask the following: 

  • Use as much as possible communication via e-mail 
  • Booking time-critical deliveries in time and ask for eventual additional costs 
  • Check with your supplier and/or customers if they still operate in order to avoid extra costs and communication. Due to the daily changes, we really advise our customers to inform Caroz timely about potential closings at their suppliers / customers. 
  • Please share general information about the decisions regarding decrease or increase in expected bookings at Caroz with your contact person within Caroz. 

It is part of the nature of this pandemic that the current situation can change daily. We will keep you updated on the latest developments within transport and logistic network and are available for your questions.

Update Corona Virus Europe – 17-03-2020

Caroz will continue to provide our customers with our full cooperation and commitment. 

Please read the following update regarding the Corona virus in Europe: 

Due to the expected increase of infected people all over Europe, as well as the closings of schools, kindergartens, it is foreseeable that personnel shortages may further occur in the transport and distribution network. Therefore, bottlenecks in the delivery of your consignments are likely to happen. 

Next to that we expect delays at a lot of borders within Europe, due to strict border controls. More and more warehouses, LSP’s, terminals in for instance Spain and Italy are already suspending services. Most likely other countries will follow on short notice. Below the most prominent decisions made by European countries up till now: 

  • • As of 17-3 France has decided to strengthen the border control for the next 15 days. Truck traffic is still allowed, but long waiting hours will occur.

Corona Protocol (COVID-19) – Caroz Protocol (15-3-2020)

 Voorkomen is beter dan genezen. Naar aanleiding van de ontwikkelingen rond het Coronavirus heeft Caroz besloten om het volgende protocol in werking te stellen. Middels dit schrijven willen we u op de hoogte brengen van de maatregelen die we als Caroz gaan hanteren. 

Voorzorgsmaatregelen kantoorwerkzaamheden 

Om te zorgen dat het virus zich niet verder gaat verspreiden heeft Caroz besloten om op kantoor te gaan werken met een beperkt aantal medewerkers. De verdeling is bepaald op basis van department. Onze medewerkers die vanuit thuis werken zijn 100% functioneel en bereikbaar. Dit betekent dat u als klant ons nog steeds via de bekende paden kunt benaderen. Indien uw vaste contactpersoon niet op kantoor is, dan wordt u door een collega doorverbonden naar de desbetreffende collega. 

 Crisismanager 

Daarnaast heeft Caroz besloten om Sabine Klesman als crisismanager te benoemen (+316 3178 4876 of s.klesman@caroz.com). Wij zouden het zeer op prijs stellen als u bepaalde ontwikkelingen binnen uw eigen organisatie ook met Caroz deelt. Hierdoor zijn wij ook op de hoogte van de ontwikkelingen bij onze klanten en kunnen we u nog beter van dienst zijn. Daarnaast is Sabine Klesman verantwoordelijk voor de algemene communicatie richting onze klanten.

Corona Virus – update 02-03-2020

CarozPlus Offices;
CarozPlus is 100% in business … without limitations !!
Before 2-March, the majority worked from home. We also need to comply with registration set by local governments and got approval to work at office completely from 2-March. In light of the wellbeing of our people and to minimize the exposure to the virus we still facilitate part of our staff working from home.

Regulatory;
Companies need to comply with registration / health and safety regulations as outlined by local governments, non-compliance consequently means companies/factories are not allowed to re-open.Over 80% of companies re-open normally from March, only companies in Hubei province still strictly limited.

Shipping Lines;
Most carriers already resume work at office from end of Feb, while they still allow certain type of staff work at home, like sales and customer services who able to work remote fully. Impact already visible as bookings/activity starts to resume in full. Further blank sailings are expected. Please know space will remain tight in the coming weeks.

Sea- & Airport Operation;
Ports are fully operational.
Further blank sailings and/or cancellation flights are expected. Please know space will remain tight in the coming weeks.

Rail operation;
Wuhan terminal. Operations have been postponed till at least 31.3.2020
Xi’an terminal. Operates normally. Extra weekly train will be added to our services. Nevertheless due to closing Wuhan terminal, blank sailings and cancellation flights. Demand via Xi’an increases rapidly. Space very limited at the moment. Options can be shared upon request.

Customs;
China customs operates normally

Factories / Trucking companies / Warehouses;
Expect the labour force will back to 80% normal in mid-March when most of workers finished the 14-day isolation.
Trucking & warehouse services back to normal.
